As a Williamsburg wedding photographer, I had the pleasure of attending the Gauthier Vineyard Wedding Showcase—a true photographer’s dream! The stunning vineyard served as a perfect backdrop for the wedding displays, and the overall atmosphere exuded a peaceful elegance. Every vendor involved contributed to making this showcase an unforgettable experience!
Gauthier Vineyard, located in New Kent County, Virginia, is a family-owned working farm, equestrian center, and vineyard that offers a unique wedding venue. I simply adored this venue; and Zack and I are now dedicated customers to the vineyard and love spending time on their porch drinking their wine (Sweet Beau is the best, personally in my opinion!).
First and foremost, Kathleen Woods from Diamonds and Pearls Weddings, the wedding planner, ensured that every detail was taken care of, bringing the event to life! Bryn Ghio from Farmstead Design Studio, the graphic designer, created a stunning wedding board layout and invitations that truly captured the vision of the showcase, she was absolutely wonderful and throwing out different ideas to capture! Cailey Galifant from Azalea Hair and Bridal Collective provided the bride’s flawless makeup, and Emmy Bevins, who recently got married, played the role of the bride with natural grace.
Mo and Sandi Gauthier of Gauthier Winery, deserve special recognition as the hosts of the event. Anthony Kapuschansky, our contact at Gauthier, played a crucial role in the showcase’s success through his management skills and the Gauthier family’s commitment to providing exceptional service to their clients. Anthony took us on a tour of the vineyard before the showcase (with a broken foot I may add), and showed us the absolute beauty of this venue. He was very passionate about all the details and work that go into the vineyard; his optimism and excitement poured out onto us and we were ecstatic about getting to shoot at a stunning venue with someone so down to Earth! Also, the fact that Gauthier is extremely military friendly, we were even more then happy to be able to shoot here! Mo and Sandi are both retired Naval Captains, Anthony is prior Navy, and as most of our clients know, Zack is active duty Army and my family has a lot of military background. Anything that is military related, we love to be able to show support for!
During the shoot, our closest collaborators were Kathleen, Anthony, and Bryn. Working with like-minded individuals who are passionate about their crafts made even the most mundane tasks exciting. Example: Zack and Anthony were putting wine bottles in the willow to capture images that looked amazing with contrast and color!
When we arrived to the venue, we were immediately impressed by the library, adorned with wine and a painting of the owners n their Naval attire over the fireplace. The table decorations captured the romance and beauty of a vineyard wedding, showcasing beautiful royal colors in contrast to the ambience of the locked wine library. You can actually rent this room for a private dinner for 10 at $900, this price includes 5 bottles of wine, food and a server! Zack is extremely adamant in trying to convince our friends to have us all rent out the library because he is persistent that the room has a very cinematic look to it, and we may rent it one day! An additional location was at the gazebo in the middle of the vineyard, it had provided a perfect location for bridal portraits. Another phenomenal location for imagery was under the weeping willow, along with a dinner display! A weeping willow is my favorite tree, and personally, I believe the portraits turned out absolutely stunning in this location!
The reception hall showcased the bride standing near a two-seated bike, capturing the festivities beautifully. We also captured some photographs of the food and cake, providing couples with a glimpse of what their wedding day could look like. Overall, participating in the showcase was a dream come true, and the picturesque landscape of the vineyard, combined with stunning floral arrangements and beautiful decor, set the stage for a perfect wedding. Collaborating with talented vendors and networking with like-minded individuals was a great experience, and I look forward to capturing more weddings at Gauthier and working with all the vendors again! Everyone was simply so down to earth, easy going and just absolutely fun to work with!
Gauthier Vineyard proved to be the perfect location for a memorable wedding. Anthony’s dedication in giving us a tour demonstrated firsthand how the venue’s picturesque beauty creates an ideal setting for a dream wedding. The affordability and military-friendly nature of Gauthier Vineyard further add to its appeal. I’ve already began referring clients to Gauthier, you just cannot find a better venue for the price in Hampton Roads. I also again want to add, the wine is absolutely fantastic and even if you aren’t having a wedding right now, go for a date and try their food and wine! You will not regret it in the slightest.
Also, a talented photographer will not only create timeless photographs but also make you feel at ease and guide you through the process. With the right Williamsburg wedding photographer, you can expect an artistic and authentic approach to wedding photography. If this is what you need, we are here for you! The Gauthier Vineyard wedding showcase is a little peek into our talent. It would be my pleasure to capture your special day because it is our duty to ensure that your photographs speak to you even years down the road!
And of course, the Sweet Beau!
