Dean and Shannon’s wedding, held at Newport News’ Keffer Hall, was a beautiful fusion of love, simplicity, and fun! With a color scheme featuring navy, coral, and turquoise, this intimate celebration radiated warmth and joy, plus it was nice to finally have the sun out! In the presence of their closest friends and family, Dean and Shannon embarked on their lifelong journey together. The elegance of Keffer Hall provided a picturesque backdrop for the the start of their new chapter as Mr. and Mrs. Blackmore (also, what a cool last-name, right??). One of the standout features of this wedding was the use of bubble guns during the exit ceremony. As Dean and Shannon walked down the aisle, enveloped in a cascade of bubbles, it was a magical and heartwarming moment, symbolizing their fun spirits and love-filled future. Additionally, the couple added a twist to their celebration with a piñata! Shannon and Dean, filled with laughter and excitement, took turns breaking it open, adding an unexpected element of fun to the day, plus, I got an awesome shot of being hit by a piñata. As a wedding photographer, I had the privilege of not just capturing these beautiful moments but also becoming a part of the celebration. During the time between shooting their engagement session and wedding, Zack and I have become good friends with Dean and Shannon! I’ve loved bonding over fur-babies and video games, and the obsession that both of our husbands have on wanting a suit of armor. During the wedding, they had infectious happiness that had everyone on their feet, and at one point, I found myself dancing with my husband while still documenting the event—a memory that cemented our friendship with this incredible couple. Dean and Shannon’s wedding highlighted that love knows no boundaries and has the power to bring people together in remarkable ways. I feel honored to have been a part of their special day and apart of their lives, and I’m eager to witness their journey ahead. Reflecting on the photographs from this wedding, I’m reminded of the laughter, the love, and the sheer joy that permeated the air.
